MotoGP Barcelona, the Sprint report
In Catalonia, the law of Alex Marquez still applies. At Montmeló, the winner of the 2025 edition asserts the pace of his Ducati Gresini to beat a superb Pedro Acosta in a photo finish: only 41 thousandths separate the two compatriots. This is the smallest gap ever in a Sprint race.

Decisive for the Gresini team rider was the overtake in turn 1 on the fourth lap and the pace set in the first part of the race, with which he built a safety margin over Acosta, who for three laps also ended up behind Raul Fernandez, losing very important time.

Top-3 for Fabio Di Giannantonio, who keeps the pace of the best but pays for starting from sixth position. A step backwards, instead, for teammate Franco Morbidelli, who after a stunning qualifying settles for P7 due to a pace not up to the best.
Disastrous Saturday for Aprilia, with Jorge Martin suffering his fourth crash of the weekend, a sign that something is wrong with the bike and perhaps concentration considering yesterday’s bad fall. Marco Bezzecchi does not take advantage, finishing ninth and struggling greatly on his RS-GP26: on a bad day, the only positive thing is having gained a point on his teammate. The best bike from the Noale factory is therefore Fernandez’s, fourth ahead of a tough Johann Zarco. Good comebacks from Francesco Bagnaia, from 13th to sixth, and Ai Ogura (from 18th to eighth).
