At the end of FP1 of the Catalonia GP it is Ducati that makes the loudest noise, with two bikes in the top-3 and four in the top-9. The best time of the session was set by Alex Marquez, with the GP26 of the Gresini team, ahead of Aprilia’s Jorge Martin and the other Ducati – this time branded VR46 – of Fabio Di Giannantonio. For Borgo Panigale, the seventh position of Fermìn Aldeguer and the ninth of Franco Morbidelli are also noteworthy. Far from the top, however, is Francesco Bagnaia, who posted the 17th time almost a second behind Alex Marquez.
There were no lack of crashes, due to the cold and low-grip track. The most dangerous was that of Jorge Martin, which also caused fears of the worst for the conditions of the home Aprilia rider; fortunately, however, the alarm soon subsided. Worth noting is the good start of KTM with Pedro Acosta fourth and Enea Bastianini sixth. Between them is the championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, who still needs to work on the fourth sector. Also appearing in the top-10 were Jack Miller (8th with Yamaha-Pramac) and Johann Zarco (10th with Honda-LCR)

The schedule
MotoGP returns to the track this afternoon at 3 pm for the Practice session that will determine the first ten qualifiers for Q2. Tomorrow at 10:10 am FP2, followed by Q1 (10:50) and Q2 (11:15), while the Sprint will start at 3 pm. On Sunday, this time at 2 pm, the sixth GP of the 2026 World Championship.
