They tried everything, through qualifying, Sprint and race, but today there is no match for anyone: Aragón is Marc Marquez’s kingdom. The world champion adds the eighth gem to his special MotorLand crown, ahead of Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi, igniting the 115,000 who came to Alcañiz almost exclusively for him.

For half the race, thanks to an indomitable Acosta, there is the illusion of a competition. However, the KTM of the Shark does not have the pace to keep up with Marquez throughout the GP, and the future Ducati rider can settle for a second position that is still amazing. Amazing like the maneuver that allows number 37 to take advantage of the Marquez-Bezzecchi duel and overtake the Romagna rider on the outside of the tight turn at curve-16.

The next appointment

MotoGP returns to the track in two weeks, for the Misano event. It starts on Friday, September 11 with FP1 at 10:45, while at 15:00 the Practice sessions will take place. On Saturday 12, FP2 at 10:10, followed by Qualifying and – at 15:00 – the Sprint. Sunday 13 is the GP, which as usual will start at 14:00.
