It is no mystery that it was Gigi Dall’Igna himself who decided to invest in Fermin Aldeguer, so much so that he defined him at the beginning of the year as “the future of Ducati in MotoGP.” The Spaniard thus arrived in the premier class at just 20 years old and at the end of his first season with the Gresini team he was able to secure his first victory, at the Indonesian Grand Prix. However, 2026 started on the wrong foot for the young talent from Murcia, victim of a training injury that caused him to miss the Malaysia tests, the Thailand tests, and the opening race in Australia. Aldeguer hopes to return for Brazil or Austin, but it is clear that no pressure will be put on his schedule.
And the renewal arrives
In a MotoGP market that is in a great hurry to fill the slots for 2027, Hector Faubel – manager of Fermin Aldeguer – has also secured a two-year renewal with Ducati for his client, a period that he will most likely spend in one of the satellite teams, given that Pedro Acosta will most likely be alongside Marc Marquez. This was reported by the Swiss outlet Speedweek.

It will therefore be an all-Spanish Ducati that we will see from 2027 in MotoGP, with the experienced super champion Marc Marquez and two of the best young talents on the grid, namely Pedro Acosta (born in 2004) and Fermin Aldeguer (born in 2005).
It is impossible not to highlight the great crisis of the Italian school, given that the two youngest local riders on the grid this year will be Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi, who will turn 28 in October and November respectively.
