Phil Hanson races with the 499P number #83
Ferrari announces the extension of the contractual agreement with Phil Hanson, committed from the 2026 season as an official driver of the Prancing Horse in endurance competitions. The British driver, born in London on July 5, 1999, has been a protagonist in the FIA World Endurance Championship since 2025 with the 499P number #83 entered by AF Corse, shared with the other official Ferrari driver Yifei Ye and Robert Kubica.

With his teammates, Hanson has so far collected 12 starts in the top Hypercar class (the Lone Star Le Mans to be held next September 6 will be his 13th race as a Ferrari driver) celebrating the historic victory at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, the third consecutive for the Maranello House. In the same season, Hanson finished second in the Drivers’ World Championship standings and contributed to AF Corse’s title in the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams reserved for independent teams.
With the Ferrari 499P, Phil Hanson has achieved a total of two overall podiums: in addition to the victory at the Circuit de La Sarthe, also second place on his absolute debut at the 1812 KM of Qatar (2025). In 2026, the best result so far is fifth place in São Paulo in July.
In the sports career of the English driver stand out five titles, all in endurance racing, obtained in the Britcar Endurance Championship (2016), in the Asian Le Mans Series in the LMP3 class (2016-17) and in LMP2 (2018-19), in the European Le Mans Series (2020) and in the FIA WEC (2019-20), the last two with LMP2 prototypes.

Hanson’s debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship dates back precisely to the 2019-20 season, first in the junior LMP2 class, then in Hypercar (from 2021) where, starting from 2025, he debuted at the wheel of the 499P. Two wins at Le Mans: in LMP2 (2020) and in Hypercar (2025).
