The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has reassured citizens regarding electric scooters. In particular, it has made known that the system necessary to manage requests for the new identification mark has already been set up to ensure that those who have submitted an application are in compliance by May 16, the date the obligation comes into force.

According to what was clarified by the MIT itself through an official note, any misalignments in bookings, which emerged especially in the initial phase, would be linked exclusively to the start of new processes. Translated: they would not reflect the real operational capacity of the offices. In particular, the Ministry emphasizes that it has already produced and delivered to the 103 motor vehicle departments, all within the scheduled timeframe, over 200,000 identification marks.

New booking methods
In the meantime, the MIT announces that it is working to communicate in the coming days new booking methods, so as to ensure times consistent with user needs. Furthermore, the note concludes, “we stand by the system built so far: the identification marks have low costs and reduced processing times for the paperwork.”
