The 2026 Acropolis Rally seemed to conclude in favor of Thierry Neuville, but precisely on the Super Sunday of the eighth world championship round, the Belgian driver lost the lead of the Greek event due to a double puncture. A sensational twist that opened the doors to victory for Sébastien Ogier, with the Frenchman from Toyota who, in one fell swoop, recovered two positions in the overall standings. The nine-time world champion, in addition to accumulating extra points in the Super Sunday and the Power Stage, took advantage of Oliver Solberg’s retirement during Day 2, with the Swede making a mistake that forced him to stop his rally. Ogier is now in third position behind other Toyota drivers such as Takamoto Katsuta and Elfyn Evans, who remains the world leader despite finishing 7th in Greece. The Welshman now leads Katsuta by seven points, and Ogier by +33. With as many as five drivers in the top five positions, Toyota dominates the Constructors’ standings, leading by +140 points over the chasing Hyundai.
