MotoGP is ready to experience one of the most special events of the season this weekend: the Italian GP at Mugello. After years of Ducati dominance, this time it is the other Italian manufacturer, Aprilia, that arrives at the home GP with the role of protagonist and big favorite. The anticipation is for the ‘derby’ between Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin, first and second in the championship and currently separated by 15 points in favor of the rider from Rimini. However, despite the double zero in Barcelona, Martin has recently seemed faster than his teammate.

“I am recovering well after the several crashes at Montmeló – Martin commented, presenting the weekend – I hope to be at 100%, even if I still don’t feel completely at my best. The most important thing is to keep having speed; then it will be essential to finish the races, both to earn points and to gain confidence. We are doing a good job anyway and we must continue on this path.” For the 2024 world champion, obviously the main focus is especially on physical condition, which after all the injuries faced in 2025 still seems to hang by a thread.
Bezzecchi instead hopes to exploit the ‘home advantage’ to erase a Barcelona weekend that saw him struggle more than the results under the checkered flag showed: “I am very happy to go to Mugello, it will be fantastic to race in front of all our fans – declared the championship leader – the desire to do well is great: we will give our best and work hard to get the best possible result.” The derby has already begun.
