Aprilia dominates, Ducati suffers
After a break of almost a month due to the postponement of the Qatar GP, originally scheduled for April, to November, MotoGP is ready to return to the track. It will do so by landing in Europe, on the **Jerez** circuit. The anticipation is great, especially for the Aprilia-Ducati challenge: the Noale manufacturer has dominated the start of this championship with Marco Bezzecchi’s three victories in three GPs, and a success even on an ‘old-style’ track like the Andalusian one would put an undeniable stamp on the overtaking of Ducati.

Most important test of the GP
The reigning champions, however, certainly do not want to abdicate easily and are eagerly awaiting the Spanish GP to try to find answers to the many questions that have emerged between Thailand, Brazil, and the United States regarding the performance of the Desmosedici GP26. Speaking to Sky Sport during the Cento Anni Ducati event, the general manager of Ducati Corse, Gigi Dall’Igna, commented on the particular moment the Borgo Panigale factory team is experiencing. As a good engineer, Dall’Igna’s mind is focused even more on **Monday, when the first day of collective testing is scheduled**, rather than on the race weekend. A crucial appointment for Ducati, which, given the limitations on private tests imposed by the Concessions regulations, has very few opportunities to work on bike development on the track.

“I expect to improve the current situation – Dall’Igna explained to Sky – we definitely need to make some interventions on the bike to try to improve it, interventions concerning the setup. Then Jerez will be important, especially because there is the Monday test where we will have the opportunity to try without the constraints that the regulations impose on us. So Jerez will be a fundamental stage. How will the weekend go? I never make predictions. I know we have to arrive and do our best. More than the race, I’m already thinking about Monday’s test, where we will have the opportunity to find solutions and a clear path“, he concluded.
