Ferrari second force
The Chinese Grand Prix clearly confirmed the picture that already emerged in Melbourne: Mercedes is the car to beat and Ferrari is the primary pursuer of the Silver Arrows.
As already happened in Australia and in the Shanghai Sprint, the two reds of Hamilton and Leclerc managed to take the lead thanks to a super start and give Mercedes a hard time in the early stages of the race. Over the distance, Antonelli and Russell then pulled away on the horizon, a sign that the cars of Toto Wolff’s team still have an evident advantage.

Ferrari, there is a desire to win in the air
Francesco Cigarini, Ferrari is chasing Mercedes. Hamilton finally hits his first podium in red. What is the good news coming from China for Ferrari?
“In Ferrari I recognize, in addition to the quality of the work done on the car and on the regulation change, the variety of solutions they are bringing to the track.
Everything seems to confirm a change of mentality and a less “blocked” approach, the results and the quality of the drivers give a further push in this direction.
All these ingredients increase awareness and give confidence to the environment, on the track and in the factory, igniting the challenge.
This year we return to breathing the desire to win with a more aware Hamilton who is inside the project, in addition to Charles’ talent.
It’s a pity that to date there are no other contenders for the podium to be able to have more battles, even if with this regulation we are seeing more wheel-to-wheel action.
It is an evolving picture, maybe the next forced break will shuffle the cards a bit, but I don’t believe in short-term revolutions, even if I don’t know how close the other teams are to solutions that would bring them back into the fight for the podium.”
