The F1 2026 calendar is still a wide-open game. Liberty Media and FIA are waiting to understand the developments of the conflict in the Middle East, but they are already preparing for several scenarios to be implemented strictly by the end of summer.
After the postponements to a date to be determined of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, the goal is at least not to give up other events; with the risks currently facing Qatar and Abu Dhabi, a plan B is emerging with the possible advancement (by one year) of Turkey and the self-nomination for the repeat of Silverstone. But there could still be other surprises in this regard.
What is plan A?
If this is the “emergency exit,” it is certainly no secret that Domenicali & Co. will do everything not only to hold the last two races but also to recover the two so far pending in Sakhir and Jeddah. And there are over 100 million reasons (and pounds) already collected a while ago.

To do this, however, the calendar will have to be extended as much as possible, even though the available weekends are really few. The Spanish photographer and insider José María Rubio, a veteran of F1 with over 50 seasons of active coverage (more than 700 Grands Prix) since 1972, has reported some rumors that see a World Championship extension even up to the Christmas holidays.
According to Rubio, the current plan for the calendar is to insert Jeddah between Baku and Singapore on the weekend of October 2-4, then postpone Abu Dhabi by two weeks to make room for Bahrain after Qatar (December 4-6). To avoid, therefore, having four consecutive Grands Prix at the end from Las Vegas onwards, the 2026 season could end on December 20.
