After the tests in Jerez de la Frontera the day after the Spanish GP, for Yamaha the opportunity opens up to improve the results obtained so far on the Le Mans circuit, where the French Grand Prix will be held. An uncommon appointment for Fabio Quartararo, 2020 world champion, who will take to the track in front of his home crowd.
Although ‘El Diablo’ is experiencing one of the worst moments of his career, due to a Yamaha crisis that seems endless, the 27-year-old is still excited to return to the track soon, even more so after finishing in the points zone in both races in Jerez: “Le Mans is always one of the most special weekends of the year for me. The support from the fans is incredible and gives me extra motivation every time I race here. After the work done in Jerez, I am curious to see how I feel on this track and I also have something special in store for the fans this race weekend, so I can’t wait.”
New path after the tests
Winner in Moto2 in 2016, Alex Rins is also preparing to face the Le Mans weekend with more determination, aiming to return to the points zone after two consecutive races outside the top 15: “I really like racing at Le Mans. It’s a circuit where I have experienced unforgettable moments. The tests in Jerez were positive and gave us new ideas, so this weekend will be about continuing on this path and seeing how the bike behaves here. I am motivated to keep improving step by step and to push to get closer and closer to the front positions.”
