BMW iX3 breaks record: 50,000 SUVs produced in Debrecen

The BMW Group plant in Debrecen has produced the 50,000th BMW iX3, reaching a significant milestone in the ramp-up of the first series model of the Neue Klasse. Just nine months after the start of series production, the Hungarian plant has indeed consolidated rapid and measurable growth, bringing a crucial phase for the scalability of the new industrial project up to speed in a short time. The decisive push came with the introduction of the second shift, started in February 2026 well ahead of schedule. This operational acceleration has substantially contributed to supporting the high demand recorded by the BMW iX3 since its market launch. In particular, a strong volume of customer orders has allowed the company to maintain momentum on the commercial and production front: the German manufacturer is therefore on track to soon reach the next important goal, that of 100,000 orders acquired.

As the first series vehicle of the Neue Klasse, the new BMW iX3 represents much more than just an industrial milestone. It indeed marks the start of a new vehicle architecture within a completely new plant. For this reason, the Debrecen site plays a key role in the expansion and scalability of the Neue Klasse within the group’s production network. The pioneering experiences gained with this launch provide valuable insights not only to the Debrecen plant but also to other BMW sites worldwide, helping to optimize processes, times, and operational capacities for future Neue Klasse programs.
