Indigestible Catalonia
Marco Bezzecchi did not seem at his best in the two days so far held in Barcelona, between the fall in Q2 that forced him to start 12th and a rhythmless Sprint that saw him finish only 9th.
‘Bez’ remained the championship leader, now with a 2-point lead over Jorge Martin. However, the rider from Rimini did not look for excuses, especially because two Aprilias finished ahead of him, those of Raul Fernandez (fourth) and Ai Ogura (eighth).
Bezzecchi’s Mea Culpa
In the statements collected by the Spaniards from Motosan, the full honesty of Marco Bezzecchi emerges: “We will have to work all night to try to understand what we did wrong, fix it and make sure it doesn’t happen again on Sunday. I have to understand what I can improve in my riding and what I can improve in general to be faster.”
No excuses then for the Aprilia rider: “Raul Fernandez is doing very well, Martin before the crash was right behind the top three. I think this time the problem is more me. I am the one struggling on this track. I don’t think it’s the bike suffering.”
Bezzecchi then concluded: “We made a bad impression, but I am sure we can do well. I am positive and the guys are working at 200%. What goal will I have for the race? To do better than today.”
