MotoGP, Bezzecchi dreams of extending his lead at Austin

Before the start of the championship, Marco Bezzecchi was aware of Aprilia’s progress during the winter. Perhaps, however, even the Romagnol rider didn’t hope for two victories in the first two GPs, which brought his streak of Sunday race wins to four, also considering the last two of 2025. Scoring a fifth victory would mean beating Marc Marquez at Austin, a rodeo where he regularly excels. Difficult, but not impossible for the Bezzecchi-Aprilia package at this start of the season.

Bezzecchi’s words

Certainly I feel happy, it’s an excellent moment, but now we start from zero again. Every race is its own chapter, but I’m really happy to be here: I really like the track, the place is fantastic and the American fans are very warm too. Marc on this track has always been fantastic, I think he has more wins here than I do in my entire MotoGP career. So it certainly won’t be an easy weekend, but we’ll try to do our best“, this was the comment from the Rimini rider at the Americas GP press conference.

It’s a very long track, there are 20 corners“, he added about the COTA. “The first sector is very physical, but the rest of the track is also quite complicated because it has many important braking points, you almost never have a moment to breathe except on the straight, but even there actually the bike keeps moving thanks to the many dips, so you never relax“.

Despite the leadership in the championship, Bezzecchi does not intend to wear the role of favorite either for the weekend or for the World Championship: “I don’t know if I’m driving the best bike, I don’t know what the Ducati is like. But the championship is only at the beginning, it’s too difficult to give an answer. There are still 40 races between Sprints and GPs, it’s really too early to talk about the World Championship: I certainly want to be competitive for the entire season, it’s my goal and I’ll try to achieve it with my team, always working in the best way in every weekend, but right now I don’t want to fill my head with these thoughts. For me it’s very important to work well with my team, I feel truly loved in the box and that’s what matters most. I will do exactly what I’ve done so far, I’ll give my best every day at home and on track to be in shape and be prepared before the races and then work in the best way on track“.
