MotoGP, Bagnaia out of the points in the Aragón Sprint
Francesco Bagnaia finishes the Aragón Sprint in 11th place, after a complicated race that saw him far from the leaders. After a slightly encouraging morning, in which “Pecco” seemed to have found an effective fix for the difficulties also seen in the Practice sessions, the Ducati rider was unable to find the necessary pace to be a protagonist.

The two-time world champion is aware that in recent race weekends he has almost definitively lost any hope of pursuing the world title dream, but maintains a proud attitude. “Pecco” does not want to give up on 2026 nor think about the future with Aprilia, but intends to improve his performance on the GP26.
Bagnaia’s words
“It was definitely a better day than yesterday in terms of feeling,” commented Bagnaia to Sky Sport MotoGP. “This morning we made a small step forward, which helped me quite a bit, while in the afternoon I struggled quite a lot especially with traction. We are working on it, because the improvement this morning was quite clear. Maybe tomorrow morning we will go in the opposite direction and it will help us a bit more.”

“I come to the track to go fast,” he added about the difficulties in the Sprint. “I don’t care where I will be next year, I care about the present. I am here to give my best. Unfortunately, in the last two years the opportunities to do well have been few. The DNA of this bike doesn’t suit me that much anymore, and we know it very well, but I will never give up. Throwing in the towel is not really me. And I believe that the work in the garage is that of a very close-knit team. Then it’s obvious that, from what can be seen from the outside, when a rider is not fast you can think anything, but the support I receive is a lot. Surely when you go fast the direction to take is clearer, while when you struggle a lot the direction is more complicated, but we are all working hard to improve.”
The result confirms the difficulties encountered by Bagnaia throughout the weekend: the Piedmontese started the weekend with 20th place in FP1 and missing the top-10 in Practice. Now the focus shifts to Sunday’s GP, where “Pecco” will have the opportunity to redeem himself and seek a better result.
