Aprilia scare, but no fractures for Bezzecchi and Martin

Aprilia scare, but no fractures for Bezzecchi and Martin

Collision on track, riders okay

Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi are relatively well. This is the most important news for Aprilia after the terrible incident at turn 1, caused by the 2024 world champion himself, who made a ‘strike’ hitting his teammate Bezzecchi, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Raul Fernandez, and Fermin Aldeguer head-on. A massive incident that could have had very serious consequences but which, fortunately, can be downgraded ‘only’ to yet another controversial episode on a track – that of Balaton Park – which seems more suited to bumper cars than motorcycles.

After the starting incident, Massimo Rivola’s face, captured by MotoGP cameras, betrayed all the legitimate concern of the Italian manager who feared for the health conditions of his two riders, who have dominated the world championship season so far. Shortly after the race, however, Aprilia’s press office communicated, a short distance from each other, the conditions of both Martin and Bezzecchi, following the routine visits carried out at the circuit’s medical center.

Aprilia’s two statements

“For Jorge Martin, after instrumental examinations, no visible fractures were found, only strong contusions to the back and right foot“, was the response reported by the team regarding Martinator.

A few minutes later, a similar statement also reassured about Bezzecchi’s condition: “For Marco Bezzecchi, after instrumental examinations, no visible fractures were found, only strong contusions to the leg and right hand“.

A great sigh of relief for Aprilia and for all MotoGP enthusiasts.
