Double Long Lap in Czechia
The MotoGP stewards’ axe has fallen, predictably, Jorge Martin. After the massive incident caused in turn 1 at the start of the Hungarian GP, the Spanish Aprilia rider was sanctioned with two Long Lap Penalties that he will have to serve in the next GP, scheduled in two weeks in Czechia, in Brno.

At the first corner, Martin triggered a general crash, taking out Marco Bezzecchi, Raul Fernandez, and Fermin Aldeguer. Fabio Di Giannantonio was also involved in the incident, but he was the only one of the unfortunate riders to manage to restart.

The official reason for the sanction decided by the stewards is that of “behavior that endangers multiple riders and/or causes an accident”. “As this is the first infraction of the season – the note continues – a double Long Lap is deemed appropriate”.
