Antonelli, high ambitions and low profile
The suspension of the F1 World Championship in April came just as Kimi Antonelli had taken off thanks to victories in Shanghai and Suzuka that put him at the top of the championship.

The pause due to the war in Iran may have interrupted a moment of grace, but for the Bolognese it could have been an opportunity to stop and reflect on the good things built in the early part of the season. He surely had the chance to think about the internal challenge with George Russell, against whom he will now face on track without fear, even though he is a very solid driver. Antonelli knows this perfectly and is aware that he still has a lot to improve (also at the start) to be able to aspire to the dream called the title.
Antonelli’s words
“I think the team has been very clear with us since the first race in Australia. We can race each other, but with respect, without trying to do stupid things. We want to win, but at the same time we want the best for the team,” these are Antonelli’s words at the press conference in Miami. “George and I know we can compete against each other, but with mutual respect. The team gave us the green light on this, because they want to give both of us the same opportunities.”

“I am aware of what is happening, but I try not to focus too much on it,” he added about the enthusiasm of Italians towards him. “In the end, the season is still very long, many races remain to be contested. I know I have to keep raising the bar because I have an extremely strong, fast and complete teammate. And the rivals will get closer and closer. I have to prove myself worthy, focus on procedures and get the best performance every time. What I experienced a month ago between China and Japan was wonderful, but I have to get back on track, and for me it will be a new beginning: I have to be ready and it will be important to try to maintain or further increase my level.”
