Antonelli knows how to earn respect
The start of 2026 for Andrea Kimi Antonelli has been dazzling and besides the remarkable 4 consecutive wins, the young Italian driver has shown an uncommon grit and aggressiveness – as his teammate George Russell noticed well in Montreal.
The world championship leader never gives up and he made it clear in every session he goes on track: he is hungry for success and it is not time for him to settle.

“Formula 1 is a shark tank”
At the press conference on the sidelines of the Bandini Trophy award, Andrea Kimi Antonelli explained his attitude – as reported by Bologna Today: “On track it’s like being in a tank full of sharks. So either you eat or you get eaten, so I have to say you have to be aggressive, in the right measure. In Canada I was aggressive, at times I was even too much. If a similar situation happens again, I will try to be more clear-headed. I am aggressive because I am racing to win, I am fighting for victories.”
Antonelli did not hide that his way of racing in recent races is a clear signal sent to his rivals: “I don’t know if they fear me, but I have more respect from many drivers. I am getting noticed more, even on track I try to send a clear message that I never back down. There will be times when it’s important to score points when you can’t win, but I am trying to leave my mark.”
