An avalanche of updates: all the news announced by the teams

Development definitely takes off in Miami, with many new features arriving on almost all cars. Ferrari has updated the SF-26 in several areas, from the front wing to the diffuser, including the floor and various aerodynamic appendages. McLaren and Red Bull are no less, the latter equipped with a new rear wing to ensure a wider opening of the profiles. Mercedes, on the other hand, presents only some tweaks, awaiting the evolutionary package planned for Canada, while Aston Martin remains the same as it raced in Japan.

Ferrari

The Maranello team introduces the package of novelties originally planned for Bahrain, to which part of the one planned for Canada is added. Developments start from the front wing, modified in the outer area of the endplate and footplate. Right behind it, the front wheels feature renewed aerodynamics, especially regarding the deflector. The floor is completely new, both along the side edge and in the central keel under the chassis, as well as the diffuser. Ferrari has also worked on various aerodynamic appendages, such as the fairings of the front and rear suspension arms, the flow diverters in the most forward part of the floor, the flaps at the diffuser exit, and the profile behind the exhaust outlet. New is also the inverted movable rear wing, already glimpsed during the filming day in Monza.

McLaren

Andrea Stella had promised a completely new MCL40 from an aerodynamic point of view and so it was. McLaren mounts an updated floor, supported by modifications to the bargeboards and other elements in the most forward portion. The novelties also concern the side radiator air intakes and the mirror supports, while the hood offers new configurations for the cooling grids. Developments also affect the aerodynamic appendages of the wheel groups on both axles, as well as the rear wing.

Red Bull

The Milton Keynes team tries to recover with a new front wing, updated both in the profiles and the endplates, changes that work in synergy with those to the front brake ducts. The floor also changes, forcing the team to intervene on the bodywork and the coca-cola area. Red Bull then worked on the hood and the fairings of the rear suspension arms. The most intriguing novelty, however, is the rear wing, designed to extend the opening movement of the movable profiles, as already glimpsed during the filming day at Silverstone.

Mercedes and Aston Martin

The only novelties on the Silver Arrows concern the exhaust outlet, curved downward without directing hot gases towards the rear wing anymore, with the addition of a small aerodynamic structure. Mercedes also introduces new aerodynamic appendages for the front wheel groups, while for the rest of the updates we will have to wait for Canada. No development instead at Aston Martin, with the AMR22 remaining in the Suzuka configuration.

The midfield

Many novelties also among the chasers, starting with Williams, which has modified the floor, radiator air intakes, sidepods, and hood, also adding a flap behind the exhaust outlet and some elements on the rear impact structure. Racing Bulls has also been busy, renewing the floor, rear wing, fairings of the rear arms, and aerodynamic appendages of the rear wheel groups.

At Audi, the updates concern the floor and diffuser, as well as the fairings of the front suspension arms and the aerodynamics of the front wheel groups. Haas presents an updated diffuser, while Alpine limited itself to local interventions, modifying the exit section of the front brake ducts, the fairings of the rear suspension elements, the rear wing, and the flaps on the sides of the rear impact structure. Numerous novelties also at Cadillac, which has worked on the front wing, floor, diffuser, elements outside the floor, mirrors, flap at the exhaust outlet, and aerodynamics of the rear wheel groups.
