Won’t Alex help Marc?

In a long interview with the Spanish El Periodico, Alex Marquez revealed he has no doubts about who to back for the championship: “I hope to play an important role in the second half of the world championship. I have nothing to lose and can race every event as if it were the last, without having to think about the pressure of scoring points. For the overall victory I would bet all my money on Marc’s win, because I live and train with him and I know what he is capable of. I have no doubts”.

When asked by journalist Emilio Perez de Rosa about the possibility of helping his brother in the world championship battle, Alex was emphatic: “No no. Marc doesn’t need my help. My intention is to become competitive again and get on the podium whenever possible and, if possible, win a GP. When you fight for the podium it’s inevitable to challenge those competing for the championship and it’s possible from time to time to hinder one or help the other. But my wish is to say goodbye to the Gresini family with the best possible results,” said Alex Marquez.
