The 6 Hours of Imola will not see the presence on track of the Briton Alex Lynn, forced to miss the first race of the 2026 season due to surgery undergone on his neck. The official confirmation came from a statement by the Cadillac team, winner of the last edition of the 6 Hours of São Paulo thanks to the performance of Lynn, his compatriot Will Stevens and Norman Nato.

Not just Imola
The 32-year-old had suffered an injury in 2024, following which he had tried to manage the pain throughout the following season. However, in order to avoid any kind of suffering for this year as well, the Englishman decided to resort to surgery, with the operation fortunately being successful. The recovery times for the return to the wheel of the #12 are not, however, expected in time for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, with Lynn returning for the third round of the championship, namely the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

No replacement and double pair
Furthermore, both at Imola and in Belgium, the US team will not replace him with any other driver. Consequently, the #12 will see the Nato-Stevens duo, with a scenario identical to that of the Cadillac #38 in the 6 Hours of Imola: in this case there will be the absence of Jack Aitken, busy in the IMSA at Long Beach, with the Cadillac thus consisting of another pair formed by Sébastien Bourdais and Earl Bamber.
