Ocon will not have the updated engine
The regulation regarding the power unit provides that when an engine manufacturer brings a new homologation, the manufacturer must also make at least one example of this updated version available to customer teams.
Ferrari made a race against time to bring the engine equipped with ADUO-2 to Monza and to comply with the regulation prepared one example for Haas and one for Cadillac. Cadillac has decided not to use this engine yet, while Haas will put the Ferrari ADUO-2 engine under the hood of Oliver Bearman‘s car.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu emphasized that this is an opportunity not to be missed and therefore Oliver Bearman will be able to try to achieve satisfaction by exploiting not only the updates brought by Haas to Monza, but also the new Ferrari engine with 12-15 more horsepower.

Haas has not scored points since the Monaco GP and is in seventh place in the standings with only a five-point lead over Audi, which has scored points in four consecutive races. Esteban Ocon will have to settle for the simply updated car without the ADUO-2 engine. Haas brought a new floor, new sidepods, and also some updates to the rear suspension to Monza, an important package with which the American team hopes to at least defend seventh place.
