We have talked extensively about the renewed GranTurismo and GranCabrio. But the new Maserati range takes another step forward also with Grecale. The luxury SUV from the House of the Trident evolves from many points of view, and never more than today is it agile and responsive on the road. Thanks to the V6 Turbo with technology inherited from F1 and based on the pre-chamber, which achieves the highest specific power in its category, equal to 177 HP per liter.

Maserati Grecale is renewed
Thermal, hybrid and electric: there’s something for everyone. Specifically, the range is divided into six versions designed by Maserati to meet the needs of individual markets. It starts with the new Grecale MHEV, available with both 250 HP and 300 HP, equipped with a mild hybrid four-cylinder engine. Then comes the Modena MHEV, in this case with 330 HP or 250 HP for Italy, always mild hybrid. Then there are the V6 and Modena V6 versions, equipped with the 390 HP six-cylinder engine. And finally, we find the Trofeo V6, with the 530 HP V6. The Folgore Full Electric version completes the range.
A range for every taste
And if the new Grecale V6 and Modena V6 versions, powered by the 390 HP V6 engine introduced as a preview in North America, represent an absolute novelty, the Folgore range is making headlines as it improves its range compared to the previous version. With 19″ wheels, it can travel up to 580 km, 79 more than the old Grecale. This is thanks to the introduction of the new AGS “Air Grille Shutter” system, but also to further aerodynamic optimization of the bumpers, underbody, and chassis.
Redesigned Design and Interiors
From an aesthetic point of view, Grecale features new front bumpers and grilles. The front bumper with a more accentuated “shark-nose” architecture integrates an air curtain shaped like an airfoil to channel the flow along the wheel arch and reduce vortices. Internally, however, we find a newly designed steering wheel available with perforated leather upholstery and in the new Alcantara version, which is standard on the Trofeo version. It features an unprecedented geometry and a new spoke at six o’clock, and is accompanied by the new digital clock. The gearshift materializes in the redesigned PRND gear selector with capacitive haptic technology. Finally, a new parking maneuver assistance function has been introduced through the use of paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
On the road, it’s a guarantee
On the road, the new Maserati Grecale provides a prompt response on every occasion and regardless of the selected driving mode. By the way: in addition to the GT, Off-Road, Sport, and Corsa modes exclusive to the Trofeo version, the Max Range mode is added for the Folgore. In terms of comfort, the report is excellent, thanks also and above all to the use of authentic materials by the House of the Trident, but also to refined comfort in climate management and seat adjustments. The luxury SUV fears no asphalt irregularity: in this sense, the MultiLink front suspension with semi-virtual steering axis, the front-mounted EPS, semi-active shock absorbers or optional air suspension, and the MultiLink rear suspension with lower control arm come into play. The result? Improved maneuverability and greater comfort.
Prices and performance
The sound is more captivating than that of the GranTurismo, and in some ways, the responsiveness of the powertrain also seems better. Some numbers for the Trofeo version: the top speed is 285 km/h, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds, while from 0 to 200 km/h it needs 13.8 seconds. A look at the prices: the 250 HP Grecale MHEV starts from 79,900 euros, while the 300 HP version starts from 86,300, keeping in mind that the 390 HP MHEV is not available in Italy; the 330 HP Grecale MHEV is available from 92,900 euros, while the Trofeo V6 starts from 128,100 euros; a final mention for the Folgore, which has a list price of 100,300 euros.
