Cadillac towards the Hungarian GP
After the Belgian Grand Prix, Cadillac is ready to return to the track at the Hungaroring for the eleventh round of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship. The Budapest circuit, present on the calendar since 1986, represents a particular challenge for teams and drivers: the numerous slow corners, the limited space for overtaking, and the high summer temperatures make tire management and strategic pit work fundamental.

For Cadillac, the Hungarian GP will be an important step in the growth path of the American team, making its Formula 1 debut. After the encouraging signs shown in recent races, the team aims to confirm the progress of the MAC-26 and collect useful data for the second part of the season. During the first free practice session, Colton Herta will take Valtteri Bottas’s place, with the aim of providing valuable insights to engineers on the development of the single-seater.
Perez’s words
“Consecutive races represent a real challenge for teams, especially when the circuits have very different characteristics,” commented Sergio Perez. “It’s difficult to move from one circuit to another, analyze the last race, prepare for the next one, bring new updated parts, and then give our best when the season proceeds at this speed. We are well prepared, the team is working cohesively and we look forward to reaching the summer break on the back of a good performance in Hungary.”

Bottas’s words
“It was positive to cover the full race distance last weekend and it felt like we were a bit closer to the midfield,” added Bottas. “The Hungaroring should be more suitable for our car and we look forward to reaching the break with the right momentum. Many Finns come to Hungary for this Grand Prix and that is always a great motivation for me. I will definitely be looking for the flags among the stands.”
Herta’s words
“It’s really exciting to have another opportunity in FP1,” commented Herta, in his second seasonal outing after Montmeló. “It’s a good opportunity for my personal experience, but the ultimate goal is, of course, to help the team with development. Six weeks have passed since I last got in the car, and there have been many evolutions during this period. My task is to help the regular drivers have the best possible Hungarian Grand Prix, but also to provide feedback that helps the team with its long-term development goals and gives me a better reference point for future sessions.”
