Leclerc dreams of a repeat at Spa
Charles Leclerc has the face of someone who has left behind the most difficult period of his sporting life. The victory at Silverstone dispelled the controversies after a streak of negative races, marked by some bad luck and too many mistakes. And now comes Spa-Francorchamps, the track where he triumphed for the first time in F1 and with Ferrari, in 2019, when he dedicated the success to his friend Anthoine Hubert, who died the day before right on the Ardennes circuit.

The Ferrari driver dreams of repeating after Silverstone and reaching double digits in wins right in Belgium. It certainly won’t be easy against a Mercedes that also arrives at Spa as a clear favorite, but Leclerc has confidence in Ferrari. And above all, he has confidence in Frederic Vasseur, dialectically provoked by his friend-rival Toto Wolff, who “did the math” on the pace of the Scuderia’s updates.
Leclerc’s words
For Leclerc, Ferrari is working with great intensity to accelerate the production of new components and maintain a high level of competitiveness without losing sight of regulatory constraints: “I fully trust Fred and I know he knows what he’s doing. I trust him more than anything else. Clearly, there is a lot of work from the team to try to bring updates as quickly and as efficiently as possible. I am sure Fred is in charge of all this, so I am not worried“.
“Spa is a track I really like“, he added about the Belgian track. “Clearly at Silverstone with these new cars we were very skeptical about the feelings we would have, I have this feeling here too, hoping it will be as exciting as it was in the past. But at Silverstone it went better than I expected, so I hope Spa remains an iconic track even with these cars“.
