Leclerc and Verstappen always deliver a show

After many years with a title-winning car available, in this 2026 Verstappen is still stuck at zero wins, while Leclerc broke his drought at Silverstone. The Monegasque has recently officially renewed with Ferrari and for 2027 the pair will still be completed by Lewis Hamilton. In 2028, openings could actually arise for a possible Verstappen arrival at Ferrari. Leclerc described the relationship that binds him to his lifelong rival and the possible scenario of cohabitation in the Ferrari garage.

“Are there friends on track? Definitely not, when the visor closes there is no more friendship – Leclerc said to Sky – but the relationship has changed, we have grown, we are much more mature, life has changed a lot since we started and when you are young you live things intensely and what happens on track for sure I was convinced he was a bad person and he thought the same of me, so it is like that, now after growing up you understand that people beyond what happens on track are different, so the relationship has changed.”

“He is an exceptional driver who has won four world championships – Leclerc added – but fortunately for me and I have always said that I think this is a great fortune for me and I have had the opportunity to have teammates who have always been very good like Hamilton, Vettel and Sainz, so no, he does not scare me. If one day it should happen it would also be a nice story because we started in 2010 together, we did all the karting categories together, so why not.”
