Ferrari is not backing down on electric. Words from Benedetto Vigna, CEO of the Prancing Horse company, who on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new Med-Ex medical center in Maranello answered a question about Lamborghini’s change in strategy. A few days ago, the House of the Bull announced the suspension of the development of the first electric car in its history, a decision that Vigna said he respects while not fully sharing it.
Ferrari does not change its mind on electric
“I respect Winkelmann’s point of view, just as I am sure he respects ours. Everyone has their own strategy“, Vigna explained. “We are convinced that leaders are and continue to be such only if they dare and try to use new technology, whatever it may be. The goal is to arouse new emotions or different emotions in those who use that product,” he added. We recall that Ferrari has the reveal of its first EV scheduled for next May 25.

First EV at the end of May
In recent days, Winkelmann announced Lamborghini’s U-turn on electric. The number one of the House of the Bull, however, does not want to hear about a step back regarding the sector’s ambitions: “We have thoroughly analyzed customer tastes and concluded that the market is not ready. We are, the customers are not,” he told La Stampa. The numbers do not lie: the Lambo CEO himself cannot fail to see that demand has flattened compared to initial forecasts.
