Perfect weekend, between one thing
It was supposed to be the perfect weekend for Marc Marquez at Sachsenring and so it was: pole, victory in the Sprint and victory in the Grand Prix. A clean sweep fundamental for the reigning world champion in his comeback plan for the World Championship. The only sour note in the optimal day of #93 came from…his brother Alex. Marc’s desire was in fact to repeat the double already achieved yesterday in the short race and everything was going the right way, until Alex slid during the ninth lap at turn 13, while he was in second position.

Marc’s ‘anger’
Marc obviously could only review his brother’s mistake after the checkered flag, in the back-podium area, watching the GP highlights together with the two Trackhouse team riders, Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez. Here, like any caring and apprehensive older brother towards the younger one, Marc was very upset about the mistake made by the Gresini rider. Watching the footage of #73’s slide, Marquez senior let out a disappointed “nooo”, huffing and pounding a fist on the small table where the TV and helmets were resting. Then #93 mumbled a few words, hard to interpret. “He was going very fast,” is the only understandable piece of sentence said by the Ducati rider.

The umpteenth ‘public’ demonstration of how genuinely worried Marc Marquez is about what happens on track to his brother, as also highlighted by the images of what happened a few weeks ago on Assen Friday, when after a bad fall by Alex Marc almost pulled the bike over to the crash spot to make sure his brother was okay after the accident. This time, fortunately, there were no health issues to deal with but ‘only’ a sporting disappointment.
