An impressive comeback considering that at the end of the Italian GP at Mugello just over 40 days ago Marquez was at -102 points from Marco Bezzecchi.

His chief mechanic Marco Rigamonti commented on Marquez’s victory at the Sachsenring to Sky: “Yesterday I saw him quite tired after the sprint, so I was a bit worried because the race distance is double, so I expected him to struggle a bit more. Let’s say it helped us a bit to be in front and therefore not suffer from being in the slipstream. The others didn’t give up until the end, so he was good. How much he had left I don’t know, only he knows.”
