The growth of Leapmotor in the Italian market continues. In May, the Chinese brand active in our country strengthens its positioning in the electric mobility segment: the fifth month confirms a development model increasingly driven by the private channel, a key element for the brand’s penetration and for the ability to intercept the demand for battery vehicles also among non-professional customers.
Leapmotor, exponential growth in May
According to Dataforce elaborations, in May Leapmotor closed with 4,765 registrations, marking a +1,278% compared to the same month in 2025. Since the beginning of the year, the total reaches 20,905 units, surpassing the 20,000 threshold and positioning the Chinese brand as the reality with the highest year-on-year growth in the entire market. The Passenger Cars share stands at 3.2%, an increase of +2.9 percentage points over May 2025, matching the record already seen in February. Furthermore, in the private channel Leapmotor reaches a market share of 5.7%, confirming itself in fifth place overall and standing out for the highest mix of sales to private customers, equal to 95.6%.
Positive electric segment
Even more significant is the result in the BEV sector. Leapmotor confirms itself as leader with a share of 34.5%, a new record, which in the private channel rises to 48%. Supporting the month’s performance is still the T03, which confirms itself as the best-selling electric car in Italy, ranking third overall and second in the private channel. Also good is the B10, which confirms itself as the best-selling electric C-SUV and ranks seventh among the best-selling BEVs overall. “The results of May further strengthen our growth path in Italy,” said Federico Scopelliti, Country Manager Leapmotor Italy.
