A bit it bothers me
Fabio Di Giannantonio does not hide Fabio Di Giannantonio in the post-race of the Italian GP, he speaks clearly after the fifth place at Mugello: a result with two faces, because on one side there is the comeback from the seventh starting position – which had even become 11th after the chaos at turn 1 – but on the other side there is the regret for not having achieved a podium in front of the tricolor crowd, who instead were able to celebrate Bezzecchi and Bagnaia.

“On a personal level it is obviously always nice when you pass many riders and also champions – commented the VR46 rider at the end of the GP – it is always a pleasure because it means your performance was good. But at the same time I wanted something more here at Mugello. But it’s normal: if you race your home race you always want to try to win, so a bit it bothers me“.
Tricolor derby
Di Giannantonio also made very interesting observations on the Ducati-Aprilia comparison, which he was able to observe closely in his duel with Ai Ogura: “The Aprilias make an entry into the corner that is incredible. I did many laps behind him and tried to carry his same speed in the corner many times and the difference I saw is that he, carrying that speed – which is not even that exaggerated – always manages to turn well. I instead always have to underperform the corner entry to find myself in the right apex point for the exit. This is now our limit“.

“In my opinion Aprilia today is superior to us, honestly – Diggia finally declared, without beating around the bush – we are really on the edge, especially with the setup. By now we have arrived a bit with this bike and the difference that I maybe manage to make at the end is because I have to hold a lot at the start of the race. I have to hope I held enough for the end of the race without losing too much, or hope I didn’t lose too much at the start. So it’s really a lottery and at this moment I think they have something more“.
