Bottas: a disappointing return

As expected from a team in its first year in Formula 1, Cadillac has not reached the points zone in any of the five races held so far, but among the two official drivers of the American team one is not particularly convincing: Valtteri Bottas. Unlike the Mexican Sergio Perez, the former Mercedes driver has delivered more disappointing performances, to the point that his stay at Cadillac already seems in question.

The Cadillac option

According to reports from Sky Italia and BILD, the hypothesis of a contract termination is not excluded, with the team potentially promoting Colton Herta in his place. In IndyCar until last season, the American is now competing in the Formula 2 championship with Hitech (a team supported precisely by Cadillac), and at the same time is a member of the team as a test and reserve driver.

13th in China, Bottas has not achieved better performances, almost always finishing behind Perez. Like the Mexican, the 36-year-old also returned to F1 this year after being absent in 2025, a year in which, after a 2024 season ended without any points at Sauber, he returned to Mercedes as a third driver.
