Ducati out of the top-5
It had been over a hundred GPs since Ducati finished a race outside the top-5: the inaugural GP of 2026 represents a strong alarm bell for the Borgo Panigale manufacturer. A year ago, the Marquez brothers and Francesco Bagnaia had monopolized the podium; today, however, the first Desmosedici at the finish line is that of Fabio Di Giannantonio, sixth at the finish.

Marc Marquez could have saved face as he did in yesterday’s Sprint, but in the finale, the reigning world champion damaged the rear wheel rim after hitting the curb on the outside of Turn-4. The nine-time world champion was forced to retire and leaves Thailand with just nine points in the standings compared to Acosta’s 32 and Bezzecchi’s 25.

“The tires wore out a lot, we reached the end of the race with little tread and just one pass over the curb was enough to puncture the tire – explained team manager Davide Tardozzi to Sky Sport MotoGP – congratulations to Marco Brezzecchi because he was extraordinary, unfortunately he made a mistake yesterday, but he dominated this weekend, so a big hug and a loud round of applause go to him.
