Martin, another magic at Le Mans
Jorge Martin‘s drought has ended. After 585 days since his last GP win, and a 2025 spent more in the infirmary than on the track, the 2024 world champion has returned to the top at Le Mans thanks to his second masterpiece in two days. This time he didn’t outsmart everyone at the start, but made his way through with shoulder barges lap after lap, overtaking first Fabio Quartararo, then Fabio Di Giannantonio and Pedro Acosta, and finally Marco Bezzecchi.
His pace on the RS-GP26 was too fast, confirming a now perfect harmony with the bike and a condition increasingly close to 100%. And now, just 1 point from the top of the World Championship and with Marc Marquez down again, talks of the title that were unthinkable just two months ago are emerging.
Martin’s words
“It wasn’t an easy race. I started well, but then there was chaos at the first corner as usual: I expected to be a bit further ahead, but I was quite behind. I kept my pace, I saw others fading, I wasn’t thinking about winning or the podium, because I saw all the top three very strong. Then Bagnaia fell, I managed to pass Pedro and that’s when I started believing in the win,” Martin commented to Sky Sport MotoGP. “At the beginning it didn’t make sense to rush and overtake everyone, I knew there was time and I wanted to stay calm enough to keep something for the end. This then paid off, I had something more than Marco in the final laps“.

“Before the Sprint we touched the setup a bit more, but today was the first time in two days that we didn’t touch anything. Now I know the bike I have at my disposal, I start to understand the limit and maintain it,” he concluded.
