MotoGP France, the Sprint report
In a weekend that forecasts rain, the first flash is from Jorge Martin. A flash especially at the start, the Spaniard executes a stunning start climbing from eighth to first position in the first two corners, and then wins the Le Mans Sprint imposing a pace unreachable for all others. A sensational show of strength from the 2024 world champion, who confirms he is increasingly close to 100% condition after the unfortunate 2025.

Faced with an unstoppable Martin, Francesco Bagnaia and Marco Bezzecchi can only settle for a placing. “Pecco” takes the advantage due to a mistake by the Romagna rider on the third lap, however the two Italians show they have a good pace. Fourth place for Pedro Acosta, who overcomes the resistance of a relentless Fabio Quartararo.
A race of total suffering for Marc Marquez. First on track, with the world champion making a poor start and struggling to keep Joan Mir’s wheel. Then physical agony due to a terrifying highside on the penultimate lap (corner-13): in the dynamics, Marquez puts his right foot down at high speed; the Spaniard, although lucky that the Ducati did not hit him, returns to the pits limping, barely putting his foot down. He will go to the medical center and his condition will be carefully evaluated ahead of tomorrow’s GP, not forgetting that on Friday they will already be riding at Montmeló.
A Saturday to forget for Fabio Di Giannantonio (also a bad start and a crash for him) and generally for VR46, which suffers a double zero. World championship points for Joan Mir, Ai Ogura, Alex Marquez and Diogo Moreira, who did well to keep teammate Johann Zarco behind.
