Alonso relives the emotions of prototypes with the Aston Martin Valkyrie LM

A great comeback

There was a brief and exciting return to prototypes for Fernando Alonso, with which the two-time world champion Spaniard managed to stand out by asserting himself at the wheel of the Toyota. In addition to two wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2018 and 2019, Alonso became WEC world champion with the same team in the 2018-2019 season, before returning to Formula 1 after another experience in the Indianapolis 500 and the Dakar Rally.

Still with Aston Martin

While his current teammate Lance Stroll took advantage of the Formula 1 break to participate in the GT World Challenge at Paul Ricard (with a disastrous result), on the same French circuit Alonso did not take part in a competition, but enthusiastically experienced a private test at the wheel of the Aston Martin Valkyrie LM, a hypercar designed as an evolution of the car that will debut this weekend in the WEC at Imola.

On his social profiles, Alonso posted a short video showing him at the wheel of the British car, with a comment describing all the emotions experienced at Paul Ricard: “Unleashed experience on track with Aston Martin. Great day and it’s always nice to relive the prototype years! Incredible experience and fantastic sound.”
