6 Hours of Imola, Friday Free Practice
The weekend of the 6 Hours of Imola starts with Alpine in the lead. On a sun-kissed Santerno circuit, the A424 #35 driven by Charles Milesi finishes first in the second free practice session, with a time of 1:30.898 set in the first minutes of action. In second place is the Toyota #7 of Nyck de Vries, 114 thousandths behind.

Alpine and Toyota thus break the Ferrari dominance at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit: dominant in the Prologue and Free Practice 1, the 499P do not repeat but closely chase. The #50 of Nicklas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina and the #51 of Alessandro Pier Guidi, Antonio Giovinazzi and James Calado are third and fourth, with a gap of 138 and 198 thousandths respectively. Seventh position for the #83 of Robert Kubica, Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson, behind the Peugeot 9X8 #94 and the BMW M Hybrid V8 #20. Cadillac are outside the top 10, while Genesis are still at the back.

In the morning session, Ferrari secured the top positions: under the Santerno sun the 499P shone, with the #83 of AF Corse leading with a time of 1:31.739, 23 thousandths faster than the #50 and 220 thousandths quicker than the #51. Following the Maranello trio were the Cadillac-Jota #12, the two Peugeots and the Toyota #8.
The third free practice session will start tomorrow morning at 10:30, before qualifying scheduled for 14:30.
