Bosch and the vehicle of the future

Mazza spoke on the occasion of the IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, which saw the German multinational among the protagonists. Among the many topics covered, obviously, also that of commercial vehicles. “The sector is undergoing a profound transformation. Propulsion systems, artificial intelligence, and software are changing the way vehicles are designed, used, and managed. In this scenario, the truck of the future will increasingly be a high-performance computer on wheels. For us, this evolution means combining different skills and developing technologies that make transport more sustainable, safe, efficient, and competitive,” he commented.

Software is at the center of everything

The company considers the vehicle as a single system, which is why it combines hardware, software, and services to develop concrete and scalable solutions. Mazza then continued: “Our goal is to support manufacturers and fleet operators in the transition towards mobility increasingly defined by software, moving from propulsion technologies to safety, from automation to centralized electronic architectures”. In short, Bosch aims to develop concrete and market-ready solutions, adapting them to the needs and dynamics of the main global markets such as Europe, USA, China, and India.

Our country also plays an important role in the multinational’s economy. “Our team in Italy significantly contributes to the development of technologies for the mobility of the future also in the commercial vehicle sector, supporting our customers in the transition towards new mobility. The heavy commercial vehicle business represents an important growth area for us. We are leveraging our strength as a global systems supplier to accelerate the transition towards alternative propulsion systems and new vehicle architectures,” concluded Mazza.
