MotoGP, Martin looks for a reaction in Austria

The 2024 world champion is therefore not at 100%, and could lose further points to Marquez. Especially since now there is the Red Bull Ring, a track where Ducati has been virtually unbeatable since 2016, highlighting the engine.

At the Austrian GP press conference, however, Martin did not look for excuses: “Last week I had a problem with my arm, but I think I have recovered quite well and I will focus on this weekend as if it were a normal weekend. I don’t want to think about it. If it should reoccur, I would make a decision, however this track is not the hardest in these terms, so I want to focus and make the bike work well“,

“I will try to stay close to Marc doing my best. I am happy to be here with him at this point in the season, it seems crazy to me and certainly the fight at Misano was fun. I enjoyed it, even though I finished fifth. I think my condition is sufficient to at least follow his pace until the end“, he added.
In the riders’ standings, Martin is at 274 points along with Marquez, but the reigning world champion is preferred having achieved more wins. At -33 is Marco Bezzecchi, eager for redemption after the fall at Misano.
