Nissan Kicks e‑POWER will arrive in Europe. This was announced by the Japanese car manufacturer itself: the new B-segment crossover will land in the Old Continent to expand the range and the offer of electrified models of the brand. Along with the launch, Nissan also announced an investment of 170 million pounds for the production of the model at the Sunderland plant, United Kingdom, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Nissan Kicks arrives in Europe
To date, the second-generation Nissan Kicks is produced in Japan, Mexico, and Brazil for international markets. Overall, the model has exceeded 1.8 million units sold in over 70 markets. It will be the tenth model produced at the Sunderland plant, in the North-East of England. It is worth remembering that, also in the United Kingdom, the Japanese company boasts a design center in Paddington, London, and a research and development site in Cranfield, Bedfordshire. The Sunderland plant has recently reached an extraordinary milestone: 12 million vehicles produced in 40 years. Starting from the first Bluebird in 1986, on average a new car has been made every minute and 45 seconds.
Production in Sunderland
Kicks is therefore the tenth car assigned to production in Sunderland since 1986: following other successful models such as Bluebird, Primera, Micra, Almera, Note, Infiniti Q30, Juke, Qashqai, and LEAF. And it follows Nissan’s electrified ambitions. Starting next year, in fact, Sunderland will also assemble the new third-generation Juke, which for the first time will be 100% electric. As for Kicks, in Europe it will be equipped with the third-generation e‑POWER powertrain.
