Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, indicated on Saturday a specific date for the comeback of the Roadster. Through the group’s official account on X, a platform owned by Musk himself, the message “Go for launch” appeared accompanied by a graphic with the announcement date. Subsequently, the South African manager confirmed in the comments that the debut of the new Roadster is scheduled for next October 1, almost ten years after the first presentation of the new generation version of the original sports car.

Tesla Roadster, here we go
The news comes after signs of acceleration in the previous weeks. At the beginning of August, in fact, The Information reported that Tesla aimed to unveil a redesigned Roadster already that month. According to Reuters’ rumors, the event could also include the demonstration of a limited edition variant equipped with “cold” gas engines, developed in collaboration with SpaceX. According to the report, the demonstration should take place at SpaceX’s testing center in McGregor, Texas.
Launch scheduled for October 1
The new generation Roadster is linked to a long history of delays. Tesla first presented it in 2017, announcing deliveries would start in 2020, but the program has faced repeated postponements. Meanwhile, the Tesla ecosystem continues to move forward on other fronts: last week the company reportedly began offering rides aboard its two-seater Cybercab, without steering wheel and pedals, in limited areas of Austin, presented by Musk as a key piece to make the company a dominant force in autonomous driving.
