MotoGP Misano, Qualifying Report
Never before had any rider managed to go under 1:30 at Misano, but Marco Bezzecchi feels at home and wants to give something special to his fans: so the Rimini native sets a memorable pole position in 1:29.982, beating the previous record of Francesco Bagnaia and the competition of a Marc Marquez who, once again, optimizes the available package and puts himself in a great position for the weekend.

Bezzecchi makes the difference between Quercia, Sunset and Carro against a Ducati that in the fast corners confirms to be a step behind the RS-GP26, as admitted by Marquez himself right after. Third position for Fermin Aldeguer, who emerged from Q1 along with Raul Fernandez, while Jorge Martin starts from fifth place: considering yesterday’s problems on the single lap and the promising pace, for the World Championship leader it is a good Saturday morning, and a podium challenge in the two weekend races is not to be excluded.
In the second row, alongside Martinator, are Fabio Di Giannantonio (P4) and an excellent Luca Marini, sixth with the Honda. Following are Acosta, Morbidelli (who will serve a long lap penalty tomorrow) and Alex Marquez, author of a disrupted session, with two crashes compromising his grid position.
The extremely negative weekend continues for Francesco Bagnaia. For the Piedmontese – 14th – even Q1 is marked by frustration and tense nerves: none of his time attacks is clean, the GP26 risks spinning out at every corner and sending him into the gravel. It couldn’t have started worse for his last Misano as a Ducati rider.
