Audi Nuvolari on display in Mantua
Recently the four rings house exhibited it in preview in Mantua, the city where the legend of Tazio Nuvolari was born, the champion who inspired the name of the car and the values of determination, passion and innovation that characterize its project, and where a museum entirely dedicated to the life and sporting achievements of the Italian driver is still set up today. Here the new Audi Nuvolari captured attention with a very clear concept: evolution. In terms of design, because it represents the future of the German house, and also in terms of performance, because it channels technologies derived from Formula One.
From the Type D to the Nuvolari
Audi enhances the minimalist and functional approach to the new car, exactly like the Type D from which it takes inspiration. As then we found a dominant tachometer and essential indicators, also on Nuvolari the scene is stolen by the essentiality of the controls with priority to the most relevant information. Nothing superfluous in sight, in short. A big job by Audi also regarding aerodynamics: the Type D was characterized by a streamlined body and cigar-shaped body type, Nuvolari instead boasts active solutions derived from F1 and DRS.
Record hybrid performance
In terms of engine, if the Type D mounted a mid-rear engine and enjoyed a balanced weight distribution, Nuvolari is equipped with a mid-engine and a strongly lowered center of gravity. The specifications of the plug-in hybrid engine that equips the Nuvolari speak of over 1,000 HP of maximum power and a 0 to 100 km/h sprint achievable in 2.6 seconds, as well as a top speed of 350 km/h. The credit goes to a 4.0 V8 biturbo combined with three electric motors. Audi’s efforts then focused on the chassis, which on the new supercar is distinguished by an aluminum frame and a carbon body.

Excellent driving dynamics
And again, the German house has decided to dedicate particular attention to dynamics. In this sense, we find the new generation quattro traction with predictive management and brake discs derived from F1. In short, for Audi the new Nuvolari is a dynamic laboratory closely related to motorsport, as evidenced by the high-performance hybrid engine, active aerodynamics, the body and all CFRP components, and carbon brakes. The new Audi Nuvolari will be produced in a limited edition of 499 units.
