Martinator has a 19-point lead over Marc Marquez
The first of two crucial weekends: MotoGP frames the Misano-Red Bull Ring doubleheader, two events where on paper there are no particular favorites (perhaps Ducati has a bit more on the Styrian hills) and where Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, and Marco Bezzecchi will be able to compete on equal terms, potentially earning points that will count double psychologically.

Jorge Martin in Misano excluding the 2025 edition has always done well in 2023 and in the two races held in 2024 where on one occasion he spectacularly took himself out of the fight for the positions that matter by changing bikes to switch to the wet one without there really being a need.
The World Championship leader presented the weekend on the Riviera like this: “The Misano GP is always special when you are part of an Italian team and, together with Aprilia and the fans, I am sure it will be a great weekend. We arrive at a track I like, after doing a good job in Aragón and with clear objectives. Being at the top of the standings is important for the entire Aprilia box, but we have already seen that, given the small gaps, it is neither a priority nor decisive. We must continue to focus on our work. I can’t wait to get on the RS-GP26 and give my best at Aprilia’s home.”

For Martin, it will actually be the last GP in Italy as a rider for an Italian manufacturer. In 2027 he is expected to join Yamaha.
