Sunday: F1 and WEC ‘together’
There is great anticipation for the upcoming weekend, which will see Formula 1 at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix. An absolutely unmissable event for all enthusiasts, many of whom will support the world championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli or a team like Ferrari, which will present a special livery dedicated to Michael Schumacher. But speaking of the Prancing Horse, on Sunday the red color will not only speed through the ‘Temple of Speed’: for the first time after a summer break lasting almost two months, the WEC will reopen the action at the Austin circuit in the United States for the Lone Star Le Mans.

Where were we?
The event, previously known as the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas, will take place on the Texas track that hosts the USA GP in Formula 1 and MotoGP, and will be the fifth appointment of the season. It restarts from the victory of the BMW #15 of Magnussen, Vanthoor and Marciello, with the German manufacturer seeing two other drivers (Frijns and Rast) share the world championship lead tied with the Toyota trio made up of Kobayashi, De Vries and Conway. A battle that does not see Ferrari far behind, and with Cadillac eager to satisfy the home crowd after the 3rd place obtained in Brazil. A mission also set by another American manufacturer like Corvette, this time in LMGT3, to help defend TF Sport’s lead in the drivers’ championship and the one reserved for teams.
The live broadcasts
The Italian public will therefore be able to calmly follow both the Formula 1 GP and the Lone Star Le Mans thanks to the time zone. It starts on Friday with the first two free practice sessions, but as in all other weekends these will not be visible on TV or streaming, but only in live timing on the official competition website. From the third free practice session until the race, instead, Discovery+ will broadcast all sessions, also available for streaming on FIAWEC+. The main event, the race, will also be live on other channels besides those already mentioned: specifically, these will be Eurosport 1, Sky Sport (also streaming on NOW) and HBO Max, with live coverage from the start to the checkered flag.
