A challenging debut
After finishing his MotoGP experience in 2025, Miguel Oliveira started a new chapter of his career this year in Superbike, accepting the proposal from BMW to take the seat left vacant by the reigning champion Toprak Razgatlioglu and to bring the Bavarian manufacturer back to the top in the Constructors’ World Championship. A challenge that was not successful, due to Ducati’s dominance and an injury sustained in Hungary that forced him to miss two races, but the German team still believes in him.

Multi-year renewal
Not by chance, on the eve of the French Round, BMW officially announced the contract renewal with its rider. The future is therefore secured for the 31-year-old, and it is not limited to 2027 alone: “BMW Motorrad Motorsport has made an important decision for the next season in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship: Miguel Oliveira will continue to race aboard the BMW M 1000 RR for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team in 2027 and beyond – reads the announcement published by the Bavarian manufacturer – Oliveira joined BMW Motorrad Motorsport and WorldSBK in 2026 after seven years in MotoGP. In his first season as an official rider for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, the Portuguese has already achieved four podiums.”

The Portuguese rider will inevitably focus on the upcoming races on the calendar, one of which is in Cremona, but at the same time, projects for the next season are starting: “Throughout my career I have learned that success depends on the courage to take on new challenges and the commitment to keep growing – he explained – the extension of the relationship with BMW Motorrad Motorsport and the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team reflects the mutual trust and ambitions we share for the future. Representing a brand like this is a great responsibility and I will give my all on and off the track to help achieve our goals. This year we laid the foundations but I think the best is yet to come. I am happy that we will continue our journey together to keep building something we can all be proud of. I thank BMW Motorrad and the team staff for their trust in me. Let’s get to work!”
