The Red car will take to the track with a livery dedicated to Michael Schumacher, who 30 years ago achieved his first victory at the Autodrome as a Ferrari driver. But in Maranello, the focus is mainly on the present and the value Monza can have for the championship: thus the SF-26s will have a further update to the power unit, thanks to the second ADUO token which should guarantee a gain of 12-15 horsepower. It was team principal Frederic Vasseur who confirmed the engine update.

Vasseur’s words ahead of Monza

Monza is always a very special weekend for Ferrari. Racing in front of our fans gives the whole team incredible energy and this year there will be an additional emotional component, because we will celebrate Michael Schumacher and the legacy he left in our company. His tireless pursuit of improvement, attention to detail, and deep belief in the importance of teamwork are fundamental values for us even today,” these are the words of the Ferrari team principal ahead of Monza.

On the performance front, we will introduce an updated power unit within the development opportunities provided by ADUO. It represents a step in the right direction, and as we know, this season is very much about marginal gains. Monza is a challenging circuit and the values on the field are extremely close, so our priority will be to execute every aspect of the weekend as best as possible, starting from Friday. We will draw further motivation from the passion of our home crowd and we want to give our fans a great weekend“.

Monza, due to its layout, certainly does not favor the Ferrari SF-26, whose weak point has notoriously been top speed. However, the Scuderia has been able to surprise on circuits where it was considered an underdog, and can count on a further improved engine.
