Alpine, Aron is in Monza for FP1
Small lineup change for Alpine during the Monza weekend. The French team will field Paul Aron in the first free practice session of the Italian GP: the Estonian will compete in the initial 60 minutes of the weekend instead of Pierre Gasly as part of the four sessions that teams must allocate to rookies.

For Aron, this will be his second appearance of the season with Alpine after the one at the Hungaroring, where he replaced Franco Colapinto. The former Mercedes Academy member has also competed in the FP1 sessions in Barcelona and at the Red Bull Ring this year, but behind the wheel of an Audi.
Aron’s words
“I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the Alpine during the first free practice session this weekend,” Aron commented.

“I am grateful to Alpine for giving me the opportunity to get back behind the wheel so soon. I was very satisfied with my session in Budapest and I hope to make further progress this time, especially helping the team to evaluate our latest upgrade package, which I have already tested in the simulator,” he added. “It will be an intense weekend for me, as on Friday evening I will be at the simulator in Enstone to further assist the team in fine-tuning the setup before returning to the track on Saturday.”
Monza will mark Aron’s ninth overall participation in an FP1 session. In 2025, the Estonian made a mark with two FP1 sessions with Kick Sauber and three with Alpine. He will be accompanied by at least one other rookie: Luke Browning, who will return behind the wheel of the Williams after Friday mornings in Barcelona and Austria.
